I am not a career politician, and that perspective is exactly why I’m running for California State Treasurer. A Silicon Valley resident since 1983, I’ve watched California grow, innovate, and face increasingly complex financial challenges. I raised my family here, worked inside large organizations, and served on community and public boards where budgets had to balance and decisions carried real consequences. Those experiences taught me that good intentions are not enough. Sound financial management requires discipline, follow-through, and accountability. California’s fiscal challenges did not happen overnight. They are the result of years of decisions made without sufficient scrutiny or long-term discipline. I am detail-driven and persistent, and I believe the Treasurer has a responsibility to ask hard questions, follow the money, and provide clear answers to the public when something doesn’t add up. Honesty, integrity, and transparency are not slogans; they are essential duties of this office. The Treasurer’s Office should operate with rigorous oversight, measurable performance standards, and full transparency for taxpayers, local governments, and investors. As Treasurer, I will prioritize thorough audits, clear reporting, and practical financial discipline to strengthen California’s fiscal foundation. This office exists to safeguard public money, independent of political agendas. My focus will be on what best serves the people of California. Responsible stewardship, accountability, and long-term financial stability. Vote Jennifer Hawks www.hawksforus.com

Jennifer Hawks is a retired businesswoman running to bring transparency and accountability back to the California State Treasurer’s office. For decades, California’s leaders have squandered tens of billions of dollars that could have instead gone to making life better for millions of Californians. As a young woman, she experienced significant financial hardship and knows that a little help can go a long way. Not only is California wasting the money that could help people - they’re also actively investing against Californians’ futures with reckless bond investments. Jennifer wants to end the waste, explain how and why every dollar in the California treasury is being spent, and restore fiscal sanity to the California State Treasury. Please list below 3 key messages of your campaign. What are the main points you want voters to remember about your goals for your time in office? Bring transparency back to the treasurer’s office. Taxpayers should be able to easily see where and how each of their dollars is spent. End reckless and wasteful investments to bring California’s debt under control, improve its credit rating, and create a stronger economy. Protect the retirement security of millions of California’s workers as a CalPERS and CalSTRS board member. What areas of public policy are you personally passionate about? I care most about public finance, and smart finances are more important now than ever in California. We already have more than 70 billion dollars in bond debt — we can’t let Sacramento spend even more on its unfinished projects. My pledge is to be a responsible investor and financial guardian for the state. What organizations or individuals have endorsed your campaign?
