About this site
This is a voter-facing rendering of an offline Karpathy-style LLM wiki
covering the June 2, 2026 California statewide primary. The site is built
from markdown notes in the source repo's wiki/ directory and
raw JSON files in raw/.
Sources
- California Secretary of State — certified candidate list, write-in list, party preference history (PDFs).
- Ballotpedia — qualified measures, per-measure detail (text, support/oppose, donors, polls), per-candidate detail (bio, prior offices, election history, issue positions, key votes, endorsements). Public pages, scraped with browser UA and polite rate limiting; no paid API used.
- CalMatters 2026 Voter Guide — statewide candidate cards with bios and ballot designations.
- OC Vote — Orange County registrar primary page (linked, but most county data here comes via Ballotpedia's aggregator).
Known gaps
- No per-district candidate cards for U.S. House, State Senate, or State Assembly (CalMatters publishes only top-level summaries for these).
- Orange County Board of Supervisors, Sheriff, and District Attorney races are not on Ballotpedia's OC aggregator; OC Vote PDFs would need to be parsed.
- Voting records shown are Ballotpedia's curated "key votes" set, not every roll call. For full federal records, ProPublica or Congress.gov is the authoritative source.
- Two candidates (Josh Matthew Fryday, Steven Craig Bradford) have no Ballotpedia page; their notes show only the structured fields from the Secretary of State filing.
Refresh cadence
Data was last refreshed on May 26, 2026 — about a week before the primary. Filings closed in February; the certified candidate list is therefore stable. Campaign finance numbers reflect the March 31, 2026 reporting deadline.
